The Moms and Kids Footlocker hosted a special event for some bloggers at the Longacre Theater. We dunked in a pair of slightly worn shoes into a box… want to know why? Because for every pair of shoes Kids Footlocker was going to donate a $1 to the Max Cure Foundation. This little boy, Max, on May 2, 2007 was diagnosed with cancer. His father and family in the days after the diagnosis came up with the Max Cure foundation to help raise funds for pediatric cancers. I am happy to say though that I saw Max last night, and he looks like a wonderful healthy boy now! That date he was diagnosed with really struck a cord with me, because that is the day Hunter was born on.

I need to take better pictures!
Let’s get back to the play. The Magic/Larry play on Broadway… simply amazing. I wasn’t alive for the Magic Johnson and Larry Bird rivalry… actually I was born during it. But after seeing this show I really want to go and read up all about them. They had a fierce rivalry, but in the end they were good friends. The show runs for 90 minutes with no intermission but it moves so smoothly and doesn’t get stuck in places. I didn’t feel like I was there for 90 minutes at all. It’s a great show also about hard work and dedication. I think our young people need to see that more. The play will be good for any sports but I think something great to take your kids to go see.

The actors in this play were amazing! I actually got to hear them talk after the show in a little talk The Moms hosted and it was good to hear some stuff from them. Also we heard from the producers and director. The playwright and more! It was just a lot of fun and it was magical to be in that situation. Oh oh and in the audience. Was the mother from Who’s The Boss!

A quick shout out to the amazing actors in the play. Kevin Daniels, Tug Coker ( I got his autograph!), Deirdre O’Conell, Peter Scolari, Francois Battiste and Robbert Manning Jr. You all were amazing and very talented and I hope to see you again on film or theater in the future!

What a great cause! Sounds like a wonderful show.
It was a wonderful cause! And it was so nice to see Max there and healthy.
I love Mona from Who’s The Boss! This sounds so fun, what a great time Alison!
I’m glad you knew her name!! Haha. I briefly remember the show from reruns. I was too young when it aired. But yes it was a wonderful time!! Now I need to come down to NYC and see you soon missy.
This sounds like a really cool play! I have only been to one play – Death of a Salesman…and that was in 1996. LOL If I ever get to NYC, you better come see a play with me!
I saw Beauty and the Beast for my 11 birthday. And Wizard of Oz years ago. But yes. I will come to a play with you. I’ve been dying to see Wicked and that’s been out for almost 10 years now I think.
It was an awesome play!! I’m not really into sports all that much, I used to watch basketball when I was a teen but haven’t lately.
