Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD Review and Giveaway

I was so excited to be able to review this movie.  Lady and the Tramp was one of my favorites, as a child.  It is one that my daughter had not yet seen.  I decided to make it a movie night just for the two of us.  We bought a big fruit bowl and a veggie tray at the store and made a night of it.

Lady and the Tramp  arrived on Blu-ray for the first time on February 7, 2012 from Walt Disney Studios.

I loved watching my daughter’s eyes as Darling opened her gift, a small Cocker Spaniel puppy with a red box attached.  Emma grinned from ear to ear and it brought back memories of watching Lady and the Tramp with my mom for the first time.

While we don’t, yet, have a BluRay player, the magic and excitement were still there, for both of us.  Clay Smith, from The Insider had this to say about the BluRay version:  ”One of the great classics…more glorious than ever in dazzling Disney Blu-ray High Definition!”

A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely, young, pedigreed, Cocker Spaniel named Lady finds herself falling, romantically, for Tramp.  He’s a street smart “mutt” without a care in the world.   Who can forget the spaghetti dinner behind Tony’s restaurant where they “kiss”?

When Lady feel rejected by her humans Jim Dear and Darling, after the birth of their new baby, Tramp takes her on an adventure through town.  Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude eventually lands Lady in the dog pound.  Released, thanks to her license, Lady returns home to a chain and a dog house.  Tramp redeems himself when he saves Jim and Darling’s baby from inherent danger.  He wins Lady’s heart and the love of her human family as well.

This movie is one you remember bits and pieces of if you’ve even seen it once.  The spaghetti dinner, the Siamese twin cats, the rat in the baby’s room, and the puppies born from this great love story.  I still sing the song “We are Siamese if you please…” when I think about those spoiled cats!
