Hunter and I were supposed to go see Escape from Planet Earth on the Saturday after Nemo hit. I knew there was no way I was going to be able to get us down there with the amount of snow we got. But thankfully I got an email saying they moved it to Sunday! So the whole weekend of fun with the kids wasn’t a total bust. Though I didn’t get to take Landon down that Friday because of the snow for the Thomas event. I’m still bummed about that. But I got my day with Hunter so I was excited.
Here is a shot of Hunter on the train on the way down there. We woke up super early and left the house at 7:15am to drive 45 minutes to the train station I like, then a little less then an hour train to get to Grand Central.

Then we headed to the subway to get to Ziegfeld Theater. We got there an hour before the movie started but at least it was warm in there! And we got to take in the opulence of this theater, the last movie mansion in NYC. It’s just 1 huge room, so it can only play 1 movie at a time.

We put on our 3D glasses and got ready to watch Escape from Planet Earth.
The 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA’s no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary’s warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner) it’s up to scrawny, risk-averse Gary to do the real rescuing. As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure-hungry son Kip (Jonathan Morgan Heit).

I adored Escape From Planet Earth! Hunter loved it too, I saw him on the edge of his seat at times. Also the whole theater was just laughing and having a great time! I highly recommend this movie to all that have a family. I know Landon would enjoy it as well. The characters are all just likeable…. well except for the bad ones of course!
It’s in theaters now so you can go enjoy it today, this weekend or soon! Have you seen it yet? If so let me know how you and your family liked it!

We are planning on going to see it. My kids love the previews and always laugh when the one guy drinking the Slurpee gets a brain freeze. I hope we can go soon.
Hahaha that part was hilarious! Hunter was laughing at that one too. Hope you get to see it soon!
We went and saw it yesterday. It was great! It is one of the few family films that even my husband and I enjoyed. It was just a fun movie.
I saw it on Sunday too and thought it was good. Me and the little ones were the only ones laughing when the aliens spoke in a Beatles voice.
Glad you guys liked it! I doubt that Hunter knew what they were doing at the Beatles part hehe.
