I got an email asking me to share this promotion that Brave Rooney is having! And I thought my readers would enjoy trying to enter so here it is! If I had a dog I would be entering to try to win!
A chance to win a personalized “superhero dog” bowl and one of 5 free BRAVE ROONEY apps. Last year, I honored the brave, surviving rescue dogs of 9/11 by giving away a Rooney app to a dog lover. This year, I want to help honor the special brave dogs who’ve done good deeds to help your family or community. Just post a few sentences, summing up your dog’s brave act, and you’re automatically entered to win a free app and a ceramic feed bowl with your dogs image emblazoned on the bottom. The artwork and bowl will be created by award-winning pet artist and ceramic designer, Debby Carman <www.fauxpawproductions.com> Winners will be selected randomly.

My dog is only 6 lbs but you’d never know it by her demeanor (her nickname is ‘killer’). If anyone she doesn’t know comes into the yard she immediately starts barking/growling to protect her family. She’s the best!
That does sound like one awesome dog.
I want to share that my precious little dog Clarice was my solice during a very long illness. She never left my side while I was sick and was the comfort that gave me strength. She passed away a few days ago, but will be forever in my heart.
My condolences on your loss! I’m so sorry about Clarice.
I’m not sure anything my dog ever did would really be considered brave, but he has done so much for us as a family. First of all, before we got him I was afraid of dogs after having been attacked by one when I was in college. Thanks to Simon’s entry into our lives 10 years ago, I am no longer afraid. He is an amazing dog.
Also, he had severe hip displacia when he was 8 months old and required double hip surgery. I was his full time caretaker for 16 weeks of recovery. At one point he had pulled one of his staples out of his incision, was bleeding and i took him to the vet. When we were there an emergency came in, and a dog was being carried in by the vet (a huge german shephard) and it peed on my feet. Simon and I were put into a room and I was just crying. It’s a big deal taking care of a dog that can’t walk on his own for 16 weeks, and the stress of everything (including a hurt dog peeing on me) just got to me.
Well as I sat there crying on the floor waiting for them to fix his incision he licked my hand over and over. And this dog NEVER licks or gives kisses.
Through the years he has done things like that often…just been there to say “I can’t help you but I love you”. And sometimes that is all I need to pick myself back up and make it through my day.
