Banana Mint Slushie with #Silkology

With being pregnant and going with a midwife, we are focusing more on the nutrition then with a traditional OB/GYN. At least for me they never focused on this aspect! So I’m trying to find more things that are healthy, delicious and filling. I don’t want to be eating bland things just because they are healthy for me. I found some great things with the help of Silk!

If you go to the Silk Facebook page and click on the Silkology tab, you are going to find a bunch of great looking drink recipes! I want to try them all, and I’ll slowly get to them all I’m sure. I chose the Banana Mint Slushie because I love Bananas and I have mint right in my garden! I didn’t have to go to the store to buy and of the ingredients!

Ingredients for Banana Mint Slushie:

  • 1 cup Silk soymilk, almondmilk or coconutmilk, any flavor except chocolate
  • 1 banana
  • 6 mint leaves (fresh from my garden)
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 6 ice cubes

I actually had some frozen bananas in my freezer, so I used those and lessened the amount of ice cubes I needed.

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Garnish with mint and lime. Sip and enjoy!

So easy to make! Would be great for a summer get together for sure. Everyone will be wanting seconds and probably thirds. Also on the recipe page it says “Add Spirits” so if you want to jazz up the drink click that and it’ll tell you what to add to make it more adult!

Silk inspired me to think outside of the bowl with their new Silkology-inspired drink recipes. Tell me something new you want to try this summer when entertaining to win a Silkology prize package.
